1 gallon fermenter

Yes BrewDemon and Mr. Beer kits are pretty darn easy but sometime you need a little help from the Borg to get you on the right track. Post your questions here!

1 gallon fermenter

Post by Jmregan2 »

My first batch is in the 1 gallon conical fermenter. One thing I noticed was that the lid would not stay all the way down. I put a small weight on top to keep it down and keep air out. Is this fine?

Thanks for the assistance!

Hello and welcome to The Borg Not knowing what you have for a fermenter, anything fermenting will produce gas Co2 and needs to be vented. Lot's of ways to do it, a open fermentation with positive pressure pushing the gasses out, a sealed unit with a airlock bubbler or a blow off tube of some sort. But yes needs to be vented some way. Post more on what you are using and can help.

just to be on the safe side; suggest leaving the lid loose or you could end up having wort all over the place if the fermentor explodes ...

If you are talking about this, and block the "venting system"...you don't want to do that.
