Carbonation in keg with sugar

Post by clay5769 »

I just got a neat little 2.5 gallon keg, I found a conversion chart for the sugar amount.

https://www.northernbrewer.com/pages/pr ... calculator

My question is when you add the sugar do you stir it in , dump it in, pour it in move keg around gently
Thanks

I have never sugar primed in a keg, but would think be the same as batch priming for bottling. Mix up your proper amount of sugar with water and bring up to a boil for a few mins., then put in the keg and put your beer on top of it with a hose on the bottom and gently swill as it goes in.

I've been naturally carbonating my kegs for a while.

I just add the sugar directly into the keg.
