Not sure what Mash did, but I only used the sugar on the original recipe which is in the first post. After that, I dropped the sugar and increased the grain a bit. I would have to compare recipes to see the amounts.

Mash, what you get for a OG and did you use the sugar? I am looking at 1054 without the sugar. Was going to order the ingredients today but morebeer is out of stock on Saaz.
I didn't use sugar, I think I came out 1.052, which was good enough for me.

I didn't have Saaz, so use French Aramis hops which I did have (they are like Strisselspalt)

I think any noble like hop will work well. Probably even something like Kent Goldings would work well.

You guys hit a good recipe on that one. I enjoyed it and have close to enough stuff to make it again.

Take a gander at the Munich Helles in my Kolsch thread. It's pretty darn good too me thinks! Yea, this one's a good recipe but I can't claim it totally, my RCE partner did all the heavy lifting.
