Miss y’all…but life happens. I got back into all grain brewing again after a long stent in DME brewing. I give my grains to the kids…they have chickens. I get free eggs out the deal

I give my grains to a guy at work, and he says the same thing, the chickens go crazy over it. He calls it Chicken Crack. Said the last time the rooster came out first and tried some, them made some weird noises and all the hens came running in. Basically he called his harem in to feed! Told him next time I wanted a video of the ordeal.

Re: The No Post Post
Good idea! I've always just dumped the bucket full on the ground, they devour it. When I next brew again, sometime this fall, I'll have to freeze some to give to them.
Life is short, live it to it's fullest!
Re: The No Post Post
I did another sprint triathlon today. My primary goal was to finish. My secondary goal was to beat the time I had in the spring. My tertiary goal was to beat my time in the first one I did (labor day 2019).
I was slower than I was in the spring, but I finished and I was faster than labor day 2019.
So 2 out of 3 of my goals.
For some reason, my results disappeared from the website, so I can't provide a link.
The important part is that I had fun. And since I messed up pushing buttons on my watch, I had a brief period of time where I thought I did better than last time.
I've got an Olympic distance on Saturday. That will be my first at that distance. The swim and bike don't conncern me, but I`ve only run 10k once in the last 45 years (maybe ever; I don't remember how long the sadists they called gym teachers made us run in gym class). But that was last Monday, so I think I'm good to go (even if I'll be slow). If all else fails, when I can't run any more, I'll walk until I can almost see the finish line, then start running and pretend I was running all the way (like I did 2 years ago in my first triathlon).

Re: The No Post Post
I did another sprint triathlon this morning. It was in a different place from the others, the distances were different, etc, so it's not an apple's to apple's comparison.
But I came in first in my division.
Before anybody gets too excited, I also came in last (I was the only man in my age group).

Re: The No Post Post
I was faster on the bike than I've been since last summer. Part of that is advice from @mashani, part is from a trainer I hired. Part of it is from buying the aerobars that mashani recommended and getting brave enough to actually use them.bpgreen wrote:I did another sprint triathlon this morning. Re: The No Post Post
It makes a difference when you mill your grain the way you have your equipment set up for. New grain mill as other was wore out. 10.5 grain grain today 1.052 5.5 in the fermenter.

I love the smell of off gassing hops when fermenting a IPA, But would be more then happy to keep all of that smell in there, but going dry hop with 3 more ozs. after things slow down.
