Out with the old.

Post by berryman »

Felt bad today but knew I had to do it sometime, I have a 5 row shelf in the far corner of my basement that I would store my bottled beer, empty glass bottles, a bunch of 1 lt pet's and 4 LBK.s I don't use. Wife said as long as you are not using any of that stuff anymore, I could use the shelf space and she is right, I threw it all in the dumpster today. I would have given it to anyone that would of wanted it but shipping not worth it and know of no one locally that would want it. Not that I wanted any of that stuff anymore either, but just hard to get rid of something you once liked and used often.

I know. When I left Texas there was a lot that moved to the dumpster… cases of flippies for example

Stinks to toss some of your brewing collection but I'm heading that way soon. I have a room full of brewing stuff I have not used for many years, could easily do up 2 brewing set-ups and lots of bottles, I only keg now. Too much stuff sitting, collecting dust when I could use the room for newer, not often used stuff... LOL
I feel your pain but sometimes ya just gotta do it!

Possessions have a value, but a cost too. They take up time and space, require upkeep. While it's hard to let go of nostalgic items, it also sets you free.
I've been clearing out my basement, getting rid of car parts, boat parts, tools and even old brew gear. Some stuff I can sell or give away, much of it goes into the trash.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.
