best way to regulate temperatures during summer.

Post by creativewoody »

Please note that I do not have an extra freezer hangin around ( bout a second fridge for my beers instead :))

I always leave my lbks in the basement but am having a bugger of a time keeping temp on a regular basis. Considered using a styrofoam box with a water bottle. Possibly a second cooler just for regulating (worried about overflow though).

Suggestions?

Your idea sounds pretty darn good to me. And wouldn't the styrofoam contain any overflow?

A cooler or styrofoam box works great. Rotate some frozen water bottles once or twice a day to keep your temp steady. Overflows get contained if you have any.

I have 2 of these and use them almost year around. In my 78 degree house, I can get my 5 gallon buckets to 63 with 2 frozen quart bottles changed twice a day. After 2 days, I only need 1 bottle to keep it to 65-66.
In the cooler months I use it to keep a stable temperature.
