Re: What are you drinking?
I had a hard cider yesterday, first alkee haul in several months. Funny how it didn't taste as good as I expected, atleast it was commercial swill, not my good stuff that's conditioning. I like to let my ciders condition for atleast a year.

Lol. The other day, i decided that i could skip my pain pills and sleeping pills for adn evening and that would make it safe to drink.
None of the beers was a BMC, so i figured they were probably from the liquor store (which would also make them stronger). 3.2 ABW (about 4 abv) was the old limit for grocery stores and such, but that was recently raised (I think to 5% abv).
I hadn't had a drink in a really long time. That plus the higher abv meant they'd hit like a ton of bricks. I would probably feel the effects with the first beer.
I drank one. NOTHING!
I thought that was a bit odd. With such a long dry spell, I'd expect to feel at least a little something, even if it was a 3.2 beer.
I went out to the garage and took another look. The beer came from the athletic brewing company. They make beers for people who need to quickly replenish carbohydrates and hydration without getting drunk. I was right that they weren't 3.2% alcohol. They were 0.0% alcohol.
Jokes on me.

I find those near beers taste a little bland. Sounds like you need to hit a good booze store and buy a real beer and try again. Yea, as long as it's been for ya, a couple would do ya!

That's not exactly easy right now. I'm still not driving. I stopped because i thought it would be tough to get in a car on the driver's side (geting in the passenger side was a challenge). But to start driving again, i first need to convince the neuro pt I'm ready, then she'll schedule me for a special test about 20 pr 30 miles away (and the test isn't cheap).FrozenInTime wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 10:41 pm I find those near beers taste a little bland. I could maybe buy some 3.2 beers at the grocery store, but I'm not sure i want to walk home (a half mile) carrying a six or twelve pack. I could maybe ak a neighbor to give me a ride, but most odd my neighbors are LDS, and i don't want to ask somebody with a religious objection to alcohol for a ride tip the liquor store. Maybe next time my daughter comes if it's not a Sunday.

Re: What are you drinking?
I bought a 6 pack of an IPA I've bever had before (Trader IPA). And i forgot that Utah loosened up the laws on what can be sold in the grocery store. These were 5% ABV (3.2 is abw, about 4 abv). It took ne an hour to finish one, so didn't feel any effects.FrozenInTime wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 10:14 pm If we were going your direction I'd drop a couple off for ya but we're more than likely headed to Northern/central Alabama this winter.
