Re: Hi I’m new here chat.
I bought a cider at the liquor store once and decided it was ok, so brewed up a 5 gallon batch and put it on tap in my kegorator.
I quickly learned that there's a difference between having a bottle of cider and having a keg of it. I got tired of cider in a hurry. It wasn't bad. I'm just more of a beer drinker and got tired of cider when that was all i had.

Re: Hi I’m new here chat.
I prefer a good hard cider over beer. I have 2-5 gallon kegs in basement conditioning right now. I use apples off our trees, the taste is sooooooo much better than that commercial stuff. I've tried the kits, they are ok but I find lacking in what I like for cider taste. The kits are good for beginners to see if they like hard cider and to learn what they would like in a (home) brew cider. Mine is basically nong cider with my tweeks.
I must add, my cider ABV is usually 8-10% with an occasional 12%. It's *not* a session cider for the UN-initiated.... LOL I use sugar and honey to kick it up a little, lactose to tame it down and after killing off the yeasties, more honey for flavor.

Life is short, live it to it's fullest!
