Another pinter question

Yes BrewDemon and Mr. Beer kits are pretty darn easy but sometime you need a little help from the Borg to get you on the right track. Post your questions here!

Another pinter question

Post by bpgreen »

I'm ready to clean and sanitize it to start a new batch, but I can't seein to unscrew it to open ir up.

Is there a trick to it or do i just need to apply more pressure or use leverage or something?

Just a guess, but if you have not drained out the old batch, and the pressure dial is still at 5, it may be under pressure still. Turn the pressure dial to 1 and it will vent out the pressure. Then try it again. The funky cone shaped thing that attaches to the lid may do some safety feature stuff when it's under pressure, I'm not sure what else it would be for.

I think i tried it with the pressure set to 0. Maybe 1, but I'm pretty sure it was set all the way down. I think the old batch is drained, but there might be some drags.

I'll double check and try again. It's entirely possibly that i had a bit of a brain fat while trying. It's also possible that physical limitations are interfering. If all else fails, there's a guy down the street who brews (or used to; i think he's been too busy lately). I can ask him to give it a try. Or i can wait until my daughter comes by next and ak her to give it a try. I think I successfully removed it once and I'm on my second batch, so I'm not sure what's different now.
