Brewery names....what's your story?

Re: Brewery names....what's your story?
I told my wife (Sara) that when I win the lottery I would stay home and focus on my brewery. I would hire my best friends to come over and help me brew/drink beer.
The name would be "Giggle Squid Brewery"
Before we had our daughter I was able to stall naming her by insisting that our first child should be named "Shark Attack." We named her Nora.
Then when she wouldn't sleep through the night before we learned to let her cry it out she became "the Kraken."
After we learned to let her cry it out and she started sleeping through the night, Sara told me I couldn't call her the Kraken when she was such a good girl.
Due to her happy disposition I started calling her the "Giggle Squid" and that name is wife approved.
Since I shamelessly pun I name beers "Sara is my Honey Ale" and "Nora is My Punkin Ale" or "Millenium Falconer's IPA" (hint, its got falconers flight in it).
Also "Jimbo's Freedom Wheat" (liberty hops).

Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain.
Quaintest thoughts — queerest fancies,
Come to life and fade away:
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today.

Yeah, me either. I suppose Swenocha Brews will suffice, no? Swenocha was chosen when we were looking for an ebay name a decade or so ago. Our dogs at the time were Swenson and Mocha. We ain't that creative... just mooshed the names together. Since that email address we set up for ebay is used for message boards registrations and the like, that became my username here (and on any other message boards I happen to be on). Yawn. Not as good as baboon a$$e$ or anything...

I dunno if anything can top baboon asses
Do you pronounce is swen-oh-cha (like charlie), or swen-oh-kuh (like cousin)? Now that you mentioned it's derived from Mocha, and that's pronounced with the K sounding Ch.

Re: Brewery names....what's your story?
When I have labeled my beers I usually put brewed by Duff on it.
Due to my size/shape I have been repeatedly labeled an ogre by multiple different social groups so I keep kicking around the idea of coming up with a brewery name based around that. However I would rather spend more time thinking about brewing than actually naming the brewery and there isn't exactly a lot of ogre lore just jumping out to be used so I never get very far with that.

Living with 3 crazy cats led to the the name Verrückt Katze Brauhaus (Crazy Cat Brewhouse). Macy is the one in the Avatar and lead brewer at the asylum. She keeps trying to switch out the hops for nip!

I think dogs have to be worked into my name somehow since there is never a moment without a dog or two or 3 or 4 or more in my general vicinity.swenocha wrote:Yeah, me either. Re: Brewery names....what's your story?
Mine is quite simple once I started brewing, I knew I could get in to the dog house with this. So its Doghouse Brewing. I also have a beer called Sadies wicked Brown which is named after the dog that I lost just last week
Re: Brewery names....what's your story?
I actually have two brewery names. First is "The North York Brewing Company" as that was the street my grandparents lived at and spent a lot of time growiing up. Some of my earliest memories were of gramps letting me have a sip of his beer ("shhhh, dont tell your mother...").
The second brew house is reserved for brews made specifically for tailgating: "Amazin' Brew." The reason should be obvious to the Michiganders and Michigeese.

Well I guess we are just Brewbirds Brewing. Since I busted a gut coming up with that for the forum why bust it again.
