OMG Not Again Two

Post by Brewbirds »

Oh I am an angry person today.

My beer fridge is out of commission. I'm chilling my drinking beers in one of my ice chests which means I can't brew until another batch is ready to cold crash, I have all my grains, hops and frozen bottles scattered among the other fridge and freezer, there are fridge parts and tools laying around until the parts I ordered come annnddd...

Amazon has a delivery confirmation that says the parts were delivered three days ago. WTF No I don't have my parts. They shipped them USPS to our street address and USPS uses contract carriers out here.

I have had a package delivered from Fry's Electronics that was razor bladed open and then left on the doorstep (it was security software no fancy gadget) I have had someone's expensive motorcycle boots, who lived on a different street 3 blocks away, left sitting on the open lid of my mail box (I delivered them to him myself), we had a contract carrier who intentionally took out garbage cans on trash day (witnessed). We were constantly getting other peoples mail so we finally got a PO box to rid ourselves of the contract carriers but no, the USPS says that just because you have a PO box doesn't mean that mail won't be routed to your physical address. So if the store doesn't use your PO box then this is what can happen.

So now some low life thief employed by the loser post office steals a package that they will open, look at and toss because it isn't some fancy electronics and we are probably out the money and will have to start over again. I have no anticipation that I will get any help from USPS who is out there hiring the lowest bidder to deliver mail in rural areas because they are beyond broken.

:x :x :x :x :x :x Sorry for the rant but also be warned if you live in a small community. I go grab a warmish homebrew now.

USPS has certainly gone down hill recently. I ordered a wireless mouse just over 2 months ago and it was shipped UPS who then turned it over to USPS. Tracking says it was delivered Aug. 9 but I've never gotten it. I contacted both UPS and USPS and got no reply. I just hope my latest order of bottling and cleaning supplies will actually arrive.

Sorry for all the problems. Hope it all gets worked out soon.
It's a good thing they know better than to mess with a package sent by a Georgia boy.

Don't know if insurance was an option. Just a start rely and capacitor. About $ 30-40 but $15 after earned credits.

It is not getting them that irks me so bad as my fridge stands idle in the middle of the room and I have beers to cold crash.

You don't need insurance. If you never get the package, Amazon will reship it for free. Read their terms.

Also, insist they use UPS on the reship.

l feel your pain Brewbirds I also live on a rural route and the MORON that delivers my mail is constatly screwing up giving my mail to my neighbors and vis versa. She obviously cant read as well. When my daughter graduated from college her diploma was mailed to our house and clearly in red letters on top and bottom and front and back it said DO NOT FOLD so of course she folded it and put a crease in it. I was Livid as was my daughter put of course USPS said here was nothing they could do about it.

i don't know your area but i most areas i've been in there are stores locally the appliance repairmen use. here they're called fox appliance, they do not sell appliances just parts. and daniel appliance, they are sales and service. i put a start kit on my fridge i just got it from fox(closer to my house). fwiw here UPS won't deliver at home they just claim no ones home and it goes to the PO. unfortunately there is no home delivery of mail with in the city limits of Cusseta Ga. pronounced CUSS-E(long e)-TA (as in ta-da). upshot undeliverable and gets sent back EVERY time. i order nothing just research it on line and go to local stores to buy or do with out.

This is a bummer! You can ask them next time to require a signature but that's useless if you're not home. Of course, anyone can sign but then they'll ask the mailperson who got the signature questions.
It just plain sucks!

So I wasn't on yesterday much. Trying to design some beers on BS for Christmas presents.

Anyway it was free shipping so Amazon was in control we filed the USPS claims (like that will help) and then have to play wait and see with Amazon I guess.

I sure am glad this is on BB2's list and not mine, I'm not sure I could remain civil after repeated poor service and lack of caring.
