There are a couple around here... I'm not into professional hockey but I do enjoy the smaller teams around here.

Yes, love hockey! I'm a Buffalo Sabres fan. I heard there was a goalie fight at the game tonight too, and I didn't believe it, till I saw this posted on facebook:

Can't wait till the season starts! I'm also a big fan of my local ECHL team, the Orlando Solar Bears (who are affiliated with the Minnesota Wild and the Toronto Maple Leafs). Those games are very fun to watch and tickets are plenty affordable.

I really, I mean WE really like watching hockey live here but the tickets are hard to get. Don't watch it on TV, not the same thang. Saying that, go UND! They used to be the Fighting Souix, but some ass of an org. whined and got the name removed. I think they have another year before they can name themselves? Either way, GO UND!

Why do all Penguins fans point that out? Is it bad to be a Pens fan because of Crosby?

No, its just a generational thing. Sorta like how I became a Bulls fan because my earliest memories of basketball were watching MJ. I have no problem knowing there is a new generation that is becoming Bulls fans because of Derrick Rose, not MJ.

That's just how life works.

I am a HUGE Blackhawk fan... I have been a 'Hawks fan for most of my life though. There are a lot of returning and fairweather fans now. I have been there through the darker years. Loving the current lineup and resurgence of life. BTW anyone know if the rumor about the Florida Panthers getting sold has any validity?

Never really got into hockey until a client took me to a Penguins game about 15 years ago. Been a Penguins fan ever since, but don't really start paying attention until later in the season. So not sure if I qualify as a "true fan". We have a good Jr Hockey team in town, and I do enjoy going to those games when I can.

I love watching hockey, but never really had a team to follow growing up, so I have teams I don't like and teams I do like. Since coming to Maryland in 2011 I've adopted the Capitals as a surrogate home team, and even went to their clinching game last season. Tickets are too pricey for me to go regularly, otherwise I'd go every chance I got.
