Louisiana is now pushing craft beer and has made this week, Louisiana Craft Beer Week. They are planning a state 'beer tour' in the future and say they added 2 new breweries this year and expect 4 more next year. For a small population like La, that's pretty damn good.

Yay for beer!
I've been thoroughly enjoying all the varieties of excellent beer.
Going to a local breweries anniversary party this Friday, and it will be nothing short of awesome.
Whiskey Barrel Coffee Stouts, Whiskey Barrel Berliners, Coconut Porters, Peanut Butter and Jelly beer, Sweet Potato Casserole beer, man...it's going to rock!

I would really like to open a tap room. My area needs a good taproom with nothing but great craft beer and maybe a pool table or two. I know absolutely nothing about running such things, nor would I risk it cutting into my snow time.

I've seen Abita posting a lot about the LA Craft Beer Week on facebook and instagram. Looks like it's gonna be one heck of a shindig! I would love to hang out at taprooms and such more often but my budget gets along more with brewing at home and drinking what I brew.

Interesting article, and it's gratifying to see the number of independent breweries in the US increasing. Competition within the free-market system is always a good thing, and the macros have exerted too much control for too long.

I had to roll my eyes at some of the comments at the bottom of the page, though. There are an awful lot of ignorant and snobby people out there, aren't there?

and pretenders

Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Yeah, I forgot to mention pretenders. Thanks for catching that, JJ.
