Water---->Da Book
So what do you think of the book so far? A chemistry crash course?? I think is is going to take a couple of reads to get a good grasp on it. I recommend keeping a highlighter handy. It is definitely a must have for All Grain brewers. The whole series is a good reference set to have on hand.

Definitely, either a crash course in water chemistry, or at the very least, a good reference for it.
I kind of expected that would be the case though, kind of like another in the series... Yeast.
I think I will approach it in small sips (sic), generallizing some of the content initially while attempting to put those sips into perspecive along the way.
In this way, using it as a reference text will get easier...

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to make beer out of your mineral laden Niagara river water from down the gorge? Wonder how it would turn out? (don't tell the Rangers down there I told you to get some LOL).
Re: Water---->Da Book
Just got mine last week and after a couple chapters, and yes a highlighter, I see I'm going to have to read this back over again. A bit more in depth than I thought it would be, at least for my brain.haerbob3 wrote:So what do you think of the book so far? A chemistry crash course?? My municiple water comes from the Emerald Channel at the east end of
Lake Erie at the mouth of the mighty Niagara...
Good stuff and yes, moderately hard... Makes good beer! (Pilseners, not so much...)
