I'm making this my new home, want to post to recruit MR. B users but that would probably be frowned upon.
I'm not mad at Mr. B....I mean they got me into beer and I want them to succeed, but damn their forum is horrible right now!
I feel the same. I kinda have some love for Mr Beer, for getting me into brewing and for the good memories of the Borg. But right now, they took a good thing and made it much less than it was. I'm sad. :-(

There's gotta be something more to the changes over there that we're not privy to yet. It's one of the biggest steps backwards I've ever seen. No way the package was chosen by its forum capabilities.

I know. At first I didn't think about it at all. I thought it was just a dumb mistake. Now I'm wondering if they really were trying to clear out all the people who weren't pure Mr Beer newbies and make it more of a marketing tool specifically aimed at Mr Beer instead of a free gathering place for ALL forms of brewing. Hell if I know. :o

I never would have guessed that Tazoo was The Grove, I mean the avatar doesn't give it away... :)

I don't think Mr. Beer is trying to do anything, I think they are just way beyond their level of competence.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Wow, great to see my old mrbeer friends are here now. I've been away for a few weeks and could not believe the issues that mrbeer created with their up (down) grade to the forum. Man am I upset that I've lost a lot of information and recipe's that I had tagged. I can live with starting out with zero posts but that information is hard to replace. Since Cooper's took over mrbeer its been a continuous downward slide. Higher prices, less response to the dedicated forum members, crappy sessional beer (White IPA) and refills that just are not as good as the originals. I've started to order from BrewDemon to get the old refills and I really enjoy using the conical fermenter, so I guess that not being on the old mrbeer forum is just part of the brewing adventure that I and the rest of you are on.

I also am making recipe's from LME and DME and doing my own hop boils. Made some great summer beers that are far less expensive than refills and I can vary the recipe's with new ingredients that I pick up on sale.

Well that's my "rant" and I guess I'll be posting here from now on. :jumpy:

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.

I don't think they had ulterior motives. I think they just went in the wrong direction. A pity, but fortunately, we have this site, designed by someone who understands what we want, and shares our passion for a certain type of homebrewing forum.
