The 2nd of 2 bottles of Schofferhofer grapefruit hef. That stuff is so good, I think I need to go pick up a sixer one of these days. Plus, they're PRY OFF clear bottles! I could use them for the next time I brew something for SWMBO. And the labels are paper, not that ceramic paint like Pepsi bottles that you can't get off to save your life.

Poured myself a small bit of Mr. Beer's CAL I brewed back in Feb. or March. If I remember right, fermented 3 weeks and dry hopped after the first week. I had one or 2 bottles after 4 weeks conditioning and wasn't too impressed. All this time later though it is a world of difference. Great hint of citrus and nice white head on it. Would probably make a great summer brew being lighter with this hint of citrus.

After a long day of brewing and bottling, I'm sitting down having a calypso Belgian pale ale.

Pseudo-Kriek. It could be more sour, but it's delicious regardless.

How is the Bier de Saison?

I am drinking a Marble Brewery Red Ale. Delicious! Very well balanced, leaning to the hoppy side for a red ale. A New Mexico beer!

I recommend Mr Beer Biere de Saison! The yeast that comes with it is awesome. I brewed up an all grain saison this summer using that yeast as well... Tasty. To back that up, I just ordered a couple of more MrB seasonals to have on hand when there is 'too much stuff to do do to brew' coming up this fall/winter. The seasonals are on sale right now as well, so if you like Saisons, take the plunge. It has a bit more bitter than the so-called 'White IPA' that was the spring seasonal.

I've used the yeast all summer, I'm going to use it instead of French Saison pretty much all the time now as it tastes the same, it's dry, and it's cheaper. It's awesome.

FWIW, the "white ipa" comes across as a bit more bitter too if you use that yeast. 12+ more points of attenuation will do that.

I'm drinking my pacific jade saison, which was made using the same yeast. And I love this stuff.
