SKA Brewing Mole Stout

Post by joechianti »

Anyone else here ever try this one? I'd love to hear what you think. I grabbed one from World Market because it sounded interesting. Me and T8r Salad tried it together and both hated it. It just didn't work for me. Nasty. I thought chocolate and peppers and spices in a beer, especilly a stout, might just work. I think they just went too far with it. If it was more subtle it might have been a success. But instead of being subtle, it slaps your taste buds in the face, then it throws them against the wall, then it pushes them on the floor, where it proceeds to kick them in the nuts. Surprisingly, I looked at reviews online, and unless those folks are being paid to lie, most of them seem to like it.

Never had the SKA, but my local microbrewery did some, although more subtle than you describe, was not to my tastes. This one didn't make through the selection process to being one of their house beers.
