Qbrew Software Problem

Yes BrewDemon and Mr. Beer kits are pretty darn easy but sometime you need a little help from the Borg to get you on the right track. Post your questions here!

Qbrew Software Problem

Post by vmaxept »

Hi All
I have not been posting much, mostly reading and brewing.

Current issue is with Qbrew. I have the version from Screwy B along with the DB containing all the MRB, CMRB and BD HME data.
Problem, the program saves the file. I go back to look at it later and the data has changes. The error is the title along with the grain bill.
Not sure how this happens. Some recipes are OK other are messed up.
I keep a running txt file log journal along with Qbrew, so all is not lost.

I can rebuild the Qbrew recipe but its a real PIA and this should not happen.
This pgm is not maintained, there may be a bug ??
I looked at other SW free and paid, none will work well for canned HME extract brewing. I dont do AG. :)
Thoughts?

What I notice is that it changes the ORDER of items in a section, and it also ROUNDS, so if I put in .996 next time it says 1. Otherwise, I don't see the issue.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

On the MB forum when Screwy updated the database people would have trouble saving it so that their recipes seemed to be missing. They were posting that you had to rename the file.

I don't know if that is what is happening to you but if some one remembers how that worked would they post it here for the OP?

Otherwise you might try to Google something like "Q Brew database update" and see if the info comes up.
