I grew up today.
I think I graduated today. I have gone from 2 gallon brewing to 5 gallon. I needed to order a hop shot to do a collaboration brew and I decided to get a 6.5 gl fermenting bucket. I brewed a new IPA and the hop smell is wonderful. I used Nelson Sauvin, Mosaic and Amirillos. I really need to get a bigger brew pot my 2 8 qrt pots were at max.
I used the dme I had left. 5lb of pilsen, 1.5 lb of dark and 1 lb of amber. I used a steep of .25 lb carapils, .50 lb 20l and .25 lb 40l. It came out at .70 og I am really excited with my first 5g batch.

Good on ya. Let me know what you think of the Mosaic hops. I've been trying to get some locally with no luck but will be ordering some soon to try out.

Big Boy Toys are always fun. Well, unless you ask the wife as she will beg to differ. But dont forget the LBKs are always great for experimenting.

My wife says *The difference between men and boys are the price of the toys.* She throws that at me alot... don't know why....

Congrats on the bigger bucket. When you need more fermenting vessels you can get 5 gallon food grade buckets and lids on the cheap at Loewes if you have any close.

Sounds great. My personal preference with Nelson Sauvin, is that I brew with all Nelson Sauvin when I use them, as they're so unique. But, your hop blend will surely be nice.brewin bull wrote:I think I graduated today. I have gone from 2 gallon brewing to 5 gallon.
