Twenty minutes left to the boil for the Bit O' Bitter. Going pretty well so far, although when I went to put my hop spider on, I missed the pot lip with one of the legs, and spilled some. So I'm going semi-commando with the hops. Don't matter none, Whirlfloc and trub settling will take care of it. Just feel kinda stoopit about it.

In line with my always impecable timing, brewed up a Halloween pumpkin beer that wont be ready until sometime closer to Christmas so kicked it up a bit to make more of a light winter warmer. Been about 36 hours and the airlock still aint kicking, but a quick perv gave the impression - I hope - that they are making babies like crazy before starting the party.

Bottling my Mr.B CAL with 6oz honey and .5oz Columbus hops. First time doing batch priming so should be interesting. Glass bottles are going in a tub incase there's any 'sploders.

Dry hopped a Stone IPA clone. Didn't have any Centennial hops, so I substituted some Amarillo hops. This ale has used up some hops I have taking up space in my freezer: Challenger, Simcoe, & Cascade in the boil; Amarillo & Chinook in the dry hop.

Added Raspberries one week in to my High Country Canadian Draft (old Mr. Beer) and Oktoberfest (new Mr. Beer). It was nice, only sanitized blender once, dumped one can, blended second, dumped it.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Just finished bottling MY last can of MB White IPA, this may be the last MB I brew. I do like or at least always have liked the seasonals, just don't care for the price.

Bottling a BD Hellfire Red today, and brewing a small BIAB tomorrow, which I call Some Kinda Amber Ale. It's a throw-together recipe to use up most of the excess Munich I've got.

In addition to today's bottling, I have to label the last two fivers I made; the Pearly Pils and the South Ferry Steam Beer. Over 100 bottles to slap labels on.

Just a reminder Dave, no label on the Pilsners going to the competition and no writing on the caps either. You know this, but it could help others who are thinking of entering.
Most of us mark on the caps at bottling, so just blacking that out with a sharpie is ok for local competitions. Nationals are a whole nother ball game.
The competition for the Pilsner is coming up soon isn't it?

Jeff, I haven't seen an announcement for Homebrew Alley 8, so I dunno. Last year, it was early February, so I'm kind of expecting to see something soon, but so far, nothing.

Anyway, I never mark my bottle caps. I print labels from beerlabelizer.com, and adhere them to the bottles with milk. They come off with a little soaking in water, so no harm to the beer, and no residue or other marks. I'm going to look for the most pristine bottles I can find before I choose which ones to submit.

Good call for others who might be considering entering a competition. You're right; I knew all of this already. But there's nothing wrong with repeating it, since it might help someone somewhere.
