My Bro "Gets" Me

Post by Chuck N »

I just got back from my brother's lake house in northern Minnesota. Went up to get our deer stands up and ready for the up-coming deer hunting season. Last month was our birthdays - his is at the start of the month mine is in the middle. When I seen him on Labor Day weekend I gave him a bottle of Wild Turkey "Rare Bird" bourbon. When I went up this weekend he gave me, belatedly, this for my birthday:

The Scotch I'd never heard of before. He said it was surprisingly inexpensive for 12 year-old Scotch and was worried it would be rot-gut. His fears were ill-founded as it was some very good scotch and, like all single malt Scotch, it paired very well with the Summit Saga i had brought up.

The other thing (if the picture is bad) is a bottle opener made from a .50 cal. bullet. It's not made from a real bullet by any stretch of the imagination but it will go well in any future man-cave I may have.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Never heard of that brand, but that opener is awesome! Your bro is a keeper for sure!

Awesome gifts. I've never heard of that scotch before either. I'll have to keep an eye out for it. And that bottle opener is really cool.
