I think this week is peak here in southern New England. I got some pics this past weekend -- will try to post a few as soon as I have some more time to do so.

Here's a few I took around town last week, when we were close to peak. (click on pic to get a larger version) If skies were sunnier, they would've been better, but still the foliage was pretty nice.
The past few days have been windy, and unfortunately it's blown down a lot of the leaves, so we're definitely on the downslide now.

Some "bugs eye view" pics from the farm. Although this wooly bear seems to think we are going to have a mild winter, the all black one I saw thought otherwise. But I didn't get a good photo of him, so this one wins.

It's been thunder storming on and off all day. Except it's 32 degrees. So we have been getting snow instead of rain. Enough snow that I dug out my cross country skis and went 5 miles between storms.

I took a couple of pics. Fall meets winter.

Unfortunately there is a lot of tree damage because this snow is heavy wet stuff and we have lots of leaves still on trees.

Ugh - snow is something I don't want to think about just yet. Nice pics, though.
We had a blizzard just before Halloween two years ago. Got about 10 inches of snow and it wreaked major havoc with the trees - tons of downed limbs and plenty of uprooted oaks. Power was out for about 7 days. Your pics bring back memories of that.
Then last year for Halloween, it was the remnants of Hurricane Sandy.
I'm afraid to check the forecast for next week. Hail? Raining frogs? Locust swarms?

Nice pics! Took my camera along on my hunting trip, went to take a pic and wham, dead battery....grrrr... I charged it before I left. Time for a new battery pack. I did manage to get a couple pics of our group with some birds we shot. I'll check them out later to see if they are quality enough to post.

CC, remember all too well. We were out 10 or 11 days here. They've been trimming trees and taking a lot out from the road that feeds us, so were looking good for now. Tons of free firewood all along the roads. Looking like rain for Holloween around here....

I'll be back at the research farm in the next couple of days, so we will see what's there now. Maybe the lakes too.

It's been really windy over the past 5 or so days in western New England. I'm looking at mostly bare branches, some brown oaks (they tend to lose their leaves last) and green pines. And the clocks change this weekend. Winter's a-comin'......
