My theory is that it was intentional to get people to stop posting the BeerBorg address over and over again....

Should be fixed very soon. I heard they hired the people that set up the Affordable Healthcare site to fix it.
Re: Mr. Beer Domain For Sale
Yeah, did that before I tried it initially, like Louie says, they are back up.Gymrat wrote:refresh your browser and try it again. If you are seeing it you have it cached.BigPapaG wrote:Both http://www.mrbeer.com and http://community.mrbeer.com seem to be fine from here...
Could have been a burp at their ISP or maybe they were re-booting servers...
In any case, looks like Peter got to the bottom of it...

I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Yep, it looks like it's down again. Not sure what to make of it now! Maybe they got hacked!Gymrat wrote:I am still not getting them with any of my browsers.

I'm having no issues getting in to their retail site or the forum site.

I'm still getting the page with ads... Looks like their DNS records are still screwed up - it may take up to 24 hours for them to propagate. Can't say I'm surprised - their web people seem to be brain dead anyway.

Both forum and www.mrbeer.com work for me. It's unfortunate. I figured I'd through in a bid.

I jumped over to the Mr Beer Fans Forum. I could not find any mention on that forum of the Mr Beer site being down.

Re: Mr. Beer Domain For Sale
I still see both websites but I jumped into the forums and looked at the New Brewers and FAQs section. They are dead. I remember when the first page would be full of threads that had been posted on in the last 12 hours and sometimes you had to go to page 2 to find the thread you were in the day before. Now there are threads that are more than a month old on the first page and only 2 have had activity in the last 24 hours.
Re: Mr. Beer Domain For Sale
You think they would actually mention it? It would be like admitting you are wrong or something. That would be stoopid.BlackDuck wrote:I jumped over to the Mr Beer Fans Forum. I could not find any mention on that forum of the Mr Beer site being down.
Must be a Names Server thing or something as they are still dead to me. I even tried a portable browser (no cache) and went to another person's desk and tried their computer. Will be interesting to see if they come clean or like the forums pretend nothing happened.

LOL that's basically what my idea was had their real site still been up for bid when I checked. Would have made for a nice Mr. Beer forum post: "Goodbye Mr. Beer? Website for sale"LouieMacGoo wrote:mrbeer.info is available for $15! I thought about getting it and routing it here!DirtRacer wrote:Both forum and http://www.mrbeer.com work for me. It's unfortunate. I'm with Joe, after our government did what sounds like the exact same thing I don't get surprised by what is going on over there any more.
Although I wonder if they spent 365 million on theirs too. Wonder how much the prices are going to go up on HMEs to pay for it.
