Today is the first anniversary of the bitch named Sandy. She came ashore and messed up way too many lives that even today, aren't nearly back together.
We read and see so much bad news that we are quick to forget that long after the cameras and scanky politicians are gone, the people affected are still left with nothing but a mess. Paperwork, trying to find an honest person to fix their property then find a way to pay what insurance didn't cover.

Let's not forget these folks because their fight is not over.

I'm on the north shore of Long Island. We were out of power for a week, and struggled to find gasoline, kerosene, propane and firewood. My boat was damaged and I spent a week in the 19th century. But many places south and west of us were wiped out. Many friends had to take in family that had lost there homes. I felt lucky after the storm, I still do.

Living a little bit inland, and being in a valley helped keep us from any actual devastation. We got through it without incident, but so many people to the south of us, along the Jersey shore especially, were wiped out. Literally wiped out. As in wiped off the map. It was a scary and ruinous time for many, and the repercussions are still being felt.

I sure feel sorry for all the people who have spent the last year in limbo, it's just un-thinkable that they aren't getting some kind of help.

Sure seems like it was yesterday. I feel for the ppl that lost everything.

As usual, the government, all the way up to the self appointed chosen one, as well as the press have long forgotten their promises and constituents that suffered this horrific tragedy. They are quick to jump on the band wagon when it happens, but just as quick to forget them soon after it is no longer news. Just as the east coast damage, quick to jump on the wagon, now to rarely hear anything. The ppl involved in these losses need to join together and make a big stink, raise it back into the news about how they have been left behind in favor of this bull shyte about the socialist health care now going on.
Life is short, live it to it's fullest!
