The Pumpkin Ale I did for my sister acted wiggy on us as well. I was thinking it might be some kind of preservative in the spices, the yeast was just not happy in that wort.

Took the second FG a little while ago. Still at 1.017, same as it was 5 days ago, so this is done. Into the fridge for the cold crash. I'll bottle it either Saturday or Sunday. The dry hop added just a little bit of hop aroma that really melds well with the aroma from the spices. I really can't pick up any vanilla from the extract, but then again, maybe it's just balanced well enough with everything else that's in there. I'm really looking forward to this one. I think it's got real good potential.

Just finished bottling this up. I got 50 bottles out of the batch. Ray...I think we've got a pretty good recipe here. Now they sit for 4 to 6 weeks to condition. I'll most likely try one at the 4 week mark, but at 7.1%, I'm guessing the 6 weeks will be a good number.

Here's the pour of the RCE Winter Ale with Rayyankee. This poured much darker than I expected it to. According to BeerSmith, I thought this was goind to be a dark reddish, but it poured almost black like a porter. The nose is a bit malty with a hint of chocolate mixed with the cinnamon and nutmeg and a liitle of the vanilla. The flavor is very smooth, not at all bitter. All the ingredients really seem to blend very well with each other. Ray, glad we were paired up on this RCE. We made a good one here.

Sounds and looks like a great one BD. In your pic there seems to be a dark red tint to it.
I have not posted to many pics of our pours because the light inside to show the color well and it is overcast here a lot but I like takings pics when the sun is out and you can really see color and clarity.
Oh yeah that reminds me, the sun was briefly out yesterday and I took a pic, posting soonest.

Here is the pour of Ray's Winter Ale. The colors were very close. Where mine had a slight reddish tint, his had a slight tan tint to it. The head on Ray's was less than mine and was more along stout lines. The flavors were almost identical too. I could pick up a tad bit more of the spices in Rays than in mine. Very well done Ray. I think we did a great job with this recipe. I am sure I'll brew this again next year for the winter!!!!
