A Small Small World

Post by T8rSalad »

it is. Just back from vacaying the Central & Southern Oregon Coast and one of my must-do's on this trip is stop into a very small but new (January 2013 opening) Brewery...Arch Rock Brewing Company. A joint with maybe 1300+ sq foot space for 2 large ferm vats, a Mash/Lauter tun with false bottom, other such machines needed (I can't remember-too much sampling). The produce a Pistol River Lager (FANTASTIC - my favorite), a nice pale ale and a gold-medal winning porter.

Long story made longer is the fact that the older couple, he a retired homicide detective = 65 y.o. and his lovely beautiful wife who was in missing persons = 72 y.o. used to live not more than 3/4 mile from where I live now, same sub-division, kids went to school where my daughter did and they both knew some police friends of ours. When I first arrived at the brewery for a nice tour and some great samples, they had asked me if I was Tater Salad from Mesa (I told them I drove all the way from Arizona to visit them on their Facebook sight. Great welcoming and spent about 2 hours chatting brewing, Mesa, Gold Beach etc etc etc.

Such a small world after all.

Salud and glad to be back home.

Love it. I ran onto my old room-mates father in law in the British Virgin Islands. You should have seen his face!
