The kind that makes beer of course! :stout:

Seriously, not sure i have a favorite. I most often use Pale 2-row as my base, then a couple different crystal for color/flavor depending on what I'm making. Biscuit malt every now and then. This weekend I'll be using Maris Otter for the first time in my Irish Red. I'm pretty boring when it comes to grain bills.
Fermenting: Bucket 1 - Fresh Squeezed IPA; Bucket 2 - Empty

I buy my 2 row in 50 lb sacks and don't keep much Maris Otter around but do like MO.
My favorite is Munich though I only use it in small amounts. I like the semi malty flavor it adds to my IPA's and helps to balance out the large amount of hops that I have been using.

i drink more wheats than anything so i'd say 2 row and wheat malt

For now I would have to say 2-row. I have not ventured to far from it since I am still learning to ag brew, trying to get the procedures/temps/equip/etc down correctly before going.... mad scientist with other grains much.

I like pale ales and IPA's the most, so 2 row would probably be the obvious answer to the question. But my favorite to add in with it would be Maris Otter. I think if really melds well with the 2 row. And then throw in some Munich or Vienna with those two and holy cow you've got a great malt bill.

That's about me to a tee ... but it ain't boring. It's good.

I buy 2 row in 50 lb sacks, so it's almost always my base. Maris Otter would prolly be better for a SMaSH, I think it can be one step infused, which is all I'll do.

I'm getting away from choc malt, and prolly browns altogether. I like roasted barley ... put about a half pound for a good black bitter stout ... boil in some Galena! Yum!

Other than that, I'm pretty much like you, 2 row base, sometimes some crystal.

My absolute favorite malt is Munich. Even all by itself with some sterling hops for bittering it makes a great beer.

I do love Munich but rarely use it above 2-3 lbs per recipe. I have lots in stock now so I need to think of something to do with it and white wheat.
I have lots of ideas and they all taste good in my head.

This is the stuff I just kegged on Saturday. I don't know why a person couldn't replace the 3lbs of 2 row with 3lbs of white wheat. hmmm I may give that a try.
