Re: Ho Ho Ho......
I've been in it the past 2 years and really enjoyed it. I have sent some of my own homemade and also added some brews from my local brewery. I have received some awesome brews - homemade and crafts from different parts of the country. I'd be interested again, but would only have one variety of homebrew to send as I have not been brewing all summer and have not got back up to speed yet.astrobeerman wrote:Well, is that time of the year.............3rd Annual Beer Secret Santa

Just saw this.....I'm in.
Last year was the first year for me and loved it. I sent a couple of mine and a couple fairly local beers, and got the same in return. It was really cool. It's a great way to possible become better friends with some else from the borg!!

This sounds like a great idea. Fill me in on the details, since I wasn't a member till after the holidays last year, but if sounds like basically, we trade beers. Count me in!

That's pretty much it....you trade beers. But this time, you don't know who will be sending the beers to you. So it's a total surprise when the box shows up by your door. Then you open it up to see who and what they sent you.JimH wrote:This sounds like a great idea. I'm in for sure. Very cool idea! And let me just say that I'm glad to be a part of the Borg, things like this and the RCE are the icing on the cake. Good stuff!

And that's the fun part of it, of course you will know who you are sending to, but you won't know who you'll be receiving from until it gets to you. It is fun and astrobeerman does a good job of organizing it.BlackDuck wrote: So it's a total surprise when the box shows up by your door. Then you open it up to see who and what they sent you.

And yes, another good way to end up with good friends from the borg. Last year I sent to a member that was not a big time poster at MB, but him and his Dad really liked the red I sent him a lot and we PM'd a lot afterwords on that brew so he could make it.

Re: Ho Ho Ho......
Count me in, I should have a brew to send and can include a couple local Georgia beers as well. Sounds fun!

Re: Ho Ho Ho......
Back when the Secret Santa first came about, astrobeerman was the one that brought it up. This was at the MB forum, back then a lot were worried about sending beer, so a lot wouldn't participate. Morebeerhere was really big on it the first year and did a lot of it also, (where is that Cal. Dude anyways). The second year Aaron = astrobeerman refined it and it was even better.
I think it would be a good thing to carry on here for those that are interested.
