I can breathe a little easier now

Post by FedoraDave »

I kept looking for announcements of Homebrew Alley VIII and coming up with nothing. Not listed on the BJCP site, and not at NYC Homebrewers Guild, who sponsors it. At one point, it seemed the NYCHG site had disappeared, which really made my eyebrows shoot up.

But yesterday there was a listing on BJCP, and I found the NYCHG announcement on Facebook. They're not accepting entries until probably late December, but at least I know it's a go.

So wish me luck. Pearly Pils and Bit O' Bitter will be the Fedora Brauhaus representatives Feb. 7 and 8, 2014. Hopefully, they won't have a crippling blizzard like they did for Homebrew Alley VII. And hopefully, I'll get another ribbon (or 2). Whatever the result, I'm looking forward to the excitement of the anticipation, and especially for the judges' feedback.

This also gives me a good excuse to go to NYC in early January to submit my entries, and take my wife, my daughter and her fiance out to lunch.

good luck, Dave
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain

Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."
