Using gelatin to clear beer ... TOOK OUT ALL THE YEAST
I was a little uncomfortable about using gelatin, but read a couple of articles that said there would be enough yeast left in the beer for carbonating
WRONG
ZERO carbonation in 2 5gal batches
now what?
throw it away?
made another batch that I added gelatin to, but I had sampled one of the first with no carb
so I actually added about 1/2 of a satchet of yeast to it and gently stirred in before bottling
not sure if that was a good idea or no but im sure it would have been uncarbed like the first 2
apparently gelatin is not a good option unless you keg and force carb
anything I can do to save this beer?
it tastes soooo gooood ..... hate to have to trash it

I tried it once but only once it was in a keg. It zapped my hop flavor and aroma so I've decided it's not for me.
How long has it been in the bottle? You could wait a bit longer to see if it carbs up.

In bottle 4 weeks today
Re: Gelatin for clarity PLEASE HELP
Some people just open the bottles and add a very small amount of yeast. There's the chance of infection and oxidation as well as bottle bombs but many have had success with that. I guess if you won't drink the beer flat, it's worth a try anyway.

Thats only option I see
thinking about rehydrating a pkg of yeast ...
probably with a smaller than usual amount of water.
then try to add as close to equal amounts as possible to eash bottle and recap
dont think bottle bombs shoild be a problem since the priming sugar amount is not changing

Re: Gelatin for clarity PLEASE HELP
Let me ask the obvious: Are you SURE you added priming sugar? I've used gelatin in a bottled batch and had zero issues with carbing properly.
The issue is determining whether or not you're lacking yeast or priming sugar now. If you're lacking sugar, adding yeast won't do anything - and the opposite holds true, too.
