Captain Lawrence is a microbrewery located in Pleasantville, NY. It's Beerlabelman's hometown brewpub, actually. It's only recently, I believe, that their beers have been bottled and available in a (probably) limited local area. I've seen their six-packs in the local grocery store and some convenience stores. I was at the 7-Eleven yesterday, and saw an individual bottle of the IPA, so I picked it up.
It's got a good nose. Strong American hop presence, both in aroma and taste. But not annoying. It's crisp and bitter, but not overwhelmingly so. The malt stands up to the hops, even though, as it should be for an IPA, the hops carries the day.
You may not be able to find Captain Lawrence in your area, but if the opportunity presents itself, give it a try. They definitely know what they're doing.

BTW o e of these days if you want to meet up at Defiant for a few I'd be down, haven't been there in a bit...
