How do you like it? I am a huge fan of Founders unfortunately every time I get to Grand Rapids I've got other stuff going on and can't stop visit them.
I currently am working my way through a Sam Adams winter sampler. I like the Juniper IPA but I am not sure I would call it an IPA. It needs to be warm to really get the flavor. The Cherry Chocolate Bock is not bad but I prefer their Chocolate Bock.

Was it one of the Mr. Beer yeasts? If so on the old site didn't they have a pretty good break down of what yeast Mr. Beer used?
I used Trappist High Gravity (Wyeast 3787) in this. It was basically their Oktoberfest, some dme, some D-90L or 180L (I forget which), and 3787. It's very tasty stuff, the Oktoberfest is a decent base for this sort of thing.
They don't sell any liquid yeast anymore it seems.
This would not be the same beer with say T-58. And I actually like T-58 for some things, but it's not a good yeast for this.
SWMBO had my Moosedrool clone, I had my Mackinac Island Red. Triple OT, Michigan won!

Well, last night: Stella Artois at dinner, then later at another bar, Port Jeff IPA. That was a birthday party, and the drinks were free. The charming barmaid in the sparkly black dress promptly refilled my glass every time it was empty. I think it's because I'm tall and classically handsome.
But it may be because I tip well, and the party was for the bar owner!
Either way, sometimes it's good to be John.

Dropped my youngest at a birthday party at the gates of Hell (chuck-e-cheese). Cool Springs Brewery (and their DirectTV NFL package)... right next door! Have had their Berliner Weisse (which is outstanding), I'll Be Black schwarzbier (quite good as well), early riser espresso stout, and Drunkin' Punkin (pumpkin beers aren't my thing, but this is pretty good). I don't visit here near enough, so this worked out well...

Enjoyed a "Monk in the Trunk" amber ale from Inlet Brewing Co. out of Jupiter, FL. Not much of a head on it, but it sure was tasty. Didn't have that sharp bitter bite that amber ales tend to have. Oh, and I paired it with seared pork chops in white wine and mushroom sauce.

I thought I was having my last Troeg's Hopback. But my niece knocked it over. Now I'm trying the US-05 side of the Bee Cave Haus Pale. Not quite ready, I think.

Seems they're a relatively new brewery, as their facebook page shows they joined in 2010. Their website has a P.O. box for an address. Don't know what to think about that.
