The turkey went well. I had a temp spike once, going up over 300 degrees. Don't know how long that lasted, but I got it under control. I'm still getting used to this smoker, at least for temps higher than what I do ribs, so I had to keep fiddling with the damper. But overall, I'm pleased with the results. Everyone else was, too; I got a lot of compliments on it. It was a little drier than I would have liked, but I know I can remedy that in the future.
At least I know I can do it, I have a good rub tucked away, and I can proceed with confidence.

Dave, happy it turned out good for you, we all knew you could pull it off. I "chicken'd out", we got hit with some really nasty weather and I decided not to cook outdoors, had everything ready but a no-go for me.
