While I don't post much anymore I still stop here and catch up every couple of days. The original MrBeer site is just such a bust since the "upgrade"
But I did want to post this information about the subject line all grain refill kits, which are now being sold at Bed Bath and Beyond. The refills are $15 and my wife had several $5 off on purchases of $15 or more plus they let me use the normal 20% off on top of that. I bought 2 Everyday IPA kits for $8 each plus tax. They had the IPA and a Nut Brown refill.
Seemed like a good deal and a chance to actual do an all grain brew for the first time. On my way home I stopped at Lowes and picked up a 2 pack of 1 gallon paint strainers so I'll do the kit as BIAB.
Later today or tomorrow I'll stop back and see if I can get a couple of the Nut Brown kits. 2 gallons for $16 beats buying refills from MrBeer or even Brew Demon when you add the shipping. I'm hopeful that BBY will have some of the other Brooklyn BrewShop refills beside these 2.

Cool.
I believe it was FedoraDave that talked about the Brooklyn Brew Shop refills on the other site. But nobody around my area was carrying them. With them at BBB I should be able to get them for a reasonable price, I'm going to have to try some.

I saw them too. I may check back after Christmas to look for a sale. MrBeer is at BJs too.

Re: Brooklyn Brew Shop 1 gallon Refills
To clarify, I may have mentioned the Brooklyn Brew Shop refills, but only incidentally. My familiarity with the BBS is from a recipe book my daughter gave me as a Christmas gift. I have brewed a couple of their recipes (the book scales the recipes up to 5-gallon batches). Not bad recipes, and they can be used as a jumping-off point for other variations on the styles, obviously.

Hi bucknut and I'm glad that you liked the IPA from Brooklyn Beer. This will be my first IPA and my first attempt at all grain brewing so I'm excited to give these refills a shot. Its interesting to me that I was never an IPA drinker but after brewing a lot of different beers over the last 2 years I've come to appreciate their difference and have actually stated buy them and enjoy them. That's why I was excited to see them at BBB.
Dave I do remember that you were given a gift of recipes fro Brooklyn Beer and am glad that the ones that you tried worked out for you. If I enjoy the Everyday IPA I might buy their recipe book and try some additional small batch BIAB brewing in addition to my extract brewing.
