We decided on a SMEIBB Pale Ale, but we have not really worked on a name for it yet.
This will be my first brew beyond steeping grains added to extracts, so big thanks to the Brewbirds on guiding me through this.

Wow if we got a Mashani blessing on this one you know we've done something right. :banana:

Brewbirds is looking forward to this as we have not used Columbus yet and used Centennial only once.

I made a mistake on the recipe, added the LME for the whole 60 min boil. So this will be a amber ale for me, pale ale for Brewbirds. :whistle:

Unless Brewbirds makes a mistake also. :sweat:

We'll see pretty soon. Got to get back to the LHBS for some stuff I missed on the last trip. Bottled the last of the four Christmas present beers. Finally made progress on a back log of bottles that needed cleaning.

I think it will be a good beer since you hit all your numbers and we'll have to wait for a while to see what the bittering addition did.

It has been great fun working with you on this RCE project and may a thousand partial mashes be in your future. Maybe we can try the American Stout together down the road. :cheers:

Got this brewed on Wednsday. Got a great Krausen. Very pleased with our brew day.

I took pics of the whole SMEIBB brew session and need to put some notes together so let me know if you want to see them.

Got our RCE bottled today and I have to show off JPSherman's awesome brew, just look at this color:

This is just the flat bottling day sample, it is a beautiful golden orange.

It has an aroma of sweet tangerine with a touch of pine behind that.

As I've said before, I have trouble with the subtleties when tasting a flat sample but there is nothing that sticks out and screams either "OFF" or "TO MUCH" and the bittering is not at all harsh and seems quite balanced with a hint of sweetness.

Man this beer is going to test my patience sitting in the pipeline.

Can't wait to do a review of the ready product. :jumpy: :banana:

Well I did post the pic of the sample at bottling and I did take pics of the brew day ala SMEIB: partial mashing on the stove top etc. but no one responded that they wanted to see them.

If someone will tell me that it is okay to post 23 images( scaled to 300 or less pixels) I will post them.
I can't do video and don't get UTube so although I took step by step pics I don't know what to do with them.
I thought it might help offer a visual reference to new brewers who wanted to PM's so advise on how to put them up here is welcome.

using a service like photobucket or anywhere that allows you to share albums you can upload them there and post a link to the album
