Ebay Recipe CD? Other Recipes?

Post by John Sand »

I've read Palmer's How To Brew, The Everything Homebrewing Book, and Homebrewing For Dummies. (Plus I have all of you) I have Clone Brews by Szamatulski, but I'm looking for more recipes. Has anyone ever ordered one of those "640 beer recipe" CDs off ebay? I assume that they are compilations of old books and magazines in the public domain. I'm also considering Brewing Classic Styles by Jamil. Any other suggestions? BYO published a special issue of clone brews, but I don't know if it is still on the shelf.

Never mind, there it is.

Brewing Classic Styles is an excellent book - every recipe I've made from it has been excellent. A must have. As far as other resources go, HomebrewTalk has a great recipe database, and it's free.

Do you mean BYO 250 Classic Clone Recipes?
Andre is right, Brewing Classic Styles is a great book. Made a Brown Ale straight out of the book that took 1st place in the category.
The Recipe Database at HBT is killer.

Thanks! Yes, BYO's clone issue. I'll probably pick up BCS too, I have a B&N giftcard. I do love the HBT forum too. I'd say 2 of my three best came from there. But I also like reading paper books, making notes in them.

We have used BYO for reference when we are designing recipes, it isn't a hard bound like you are seeking it just sits on the Google Bar for quick access but it has some great info.

I think it is : byo.com/stories/recipeindex

Most of them have extract and 5 gallon all grain versions.
