I'm wanting to create a fall festive pumpkin brew. I had a recipe I found in the old forums but now can't search for. Here's what I'm thinking:
1can Octoberfest Vienna Lager (old MB stock)
1lb. Dark DME
1pk. Booster
10oz. Pumpkin puree
2oz. Mulling spices
Not sure what type of yeast I want, or if I need extra hops. I currently have Wilamette, Cascade, and Fuggle.
Any thoughts?
Also am I thinking about this too soon, and should I wait? I want it for Thanksgiving.

Ran that through a program for IBUs?
I can't get to my programs, but I think a 5o min boil of Fuggles would add enough to overcome the extra dme/lme/booster addition
But then, it may just be fine.
As far as time, a little over 2 months in the bottle should be fine me thinks.

Thanks Yankeedag. Think Thursday has become brew day.
Re: pumpkin brew using the old MB octoberfest lager
I'm at work so I don't have the recipe with me right now but I picked up a local homebrew supply house's special last year for a 'pumpkin spiced porter' and brewed 5 gallons of it. It was partial grain/extract if I recall correctly. After tasting, it's too 'spiced' ie too much of the pumpkin spice flavor for my taste. It over ran the porter. I think it was either the star anise or something that just was too strong for my taste. I still have 3 liters left saving it for the fall/winter in case it got better. Let me know if you're interested and I'll post it here. Maybe you'd like it better than me?

Thanks redbeerd but I still only play with extracts. Down the road grains might fit.
