Are we ready for the n00bs?
I imagine we might see a bump in traffic after the first of the year. I certainly hope so, as it means people have received the best Christmas gift ever: a homebrew kit!
So let's make sure we're ready, and get used to looking at the Beginner Brewing forum on a regular basis, so we can welcome the new members, answer their questions, exercise patience and understanding (remember, we were all there at one time, too), and be as encouraging and positive as we can be.
It's time to pay it forward, folks. We owe it to the homebrewing world.

Re: Are we ready for the n00bs?
I usually browse via the "new posts" function so I'm sure I'll see them.
I guess I'm not a n00b, but I feel like I have so much to learn, I'm far from an expert.

I've done my part to make sure I'm ready!
Also I had asked Sam to put something in his brew kit boxes directing them here to the BeerBorg to make sure they have a resource for help if they need it!

I'm sure many folks will be receiving this awesome gift come next Wednesday. I remember back on the MB boards that after Christmas there were a lot of new faces around eager to learn and get more involved with brewing. Love it, can't wait. Ready to help introduce others to this obsession -- I mean hobby

Hey Wait! You left out Rick, Wings and T8r for teasing and sarcasm and FIT for Peppermint Snapps goes great with an IPA and JoeC for how to deal with SWMBO. It won't be the same without those guys.So let's make sure we're ready, and get used to looking at the Beginner Brewing forum on a regular basis, so we can welcome the new members, answer their questions, exercise patience and understanding (remember, we were all there at one time, too), and be as encouraging and positive as we can be

Now that we are no longer on a company forum I doubt we will see an influx of noobs. Unless Brew Demon puts something about it in their beer kits like Louie asked them to.

That's right. Don't forget me. I'm not going anywhere. Just been sick a lot. I'm ready for the new wave.
Re: Are we ready for the n00bs?
I agree, there are bound to be some, but nothing like the wave that usually happens around Christmas and after at the MB forum. I hope we get some, it's fun to see the excitement with a new brewer and it's good to help steer them in the right direction.Gymrat wrote:Now that we are no longer on a company forum I doubt we will see an influx of noobs. I do hope some of the new people make it this way. I always like the joy they can bring as they discover a new hobby.

Don't worry, Darlin' we ain't going anywhere. I actually pride myself on answering my posts a little sarcastically and then actually giving a helping hand. It makes it more fun and until they get to know me, I always say, "Just kidding!!"Hey Wait! How many are still around?
And how many filed the mr b directions exactly and gave up after one try?

Re: Are we ready for the n00bs?
Might not be as many since BB&B isn't selling the kits.
Re: Are we ready for the n00bs?
i will likely check out the Mr B board in the days after Christmas, both to help the noobs, but also to try to direct them here .
