Got this in my Secret Santa box the other day. It poured a somewhat cloudy orangish brown color. It opened with quite the pphhhhfffttt when I popped the cap. It was a touch overcarbed in the pour, but nothing a few minutes sitting wouldn't do to fix the large foamy white head. But surprisingly, it wasn't overcarbed in the mouthfeel.
According to the recipe he sent along with it, it's a SMaSH with Marris Otter and Falconers Flight. The aroma was very nice...almost like it had more than one type of hop in it. The body was spot on, perfect medium body. I'm not real familiar with Falconers Flight, but the hop flavor was different, its got something there that I just can't figure out, but I like it. It's a very familiar flavor, maybe slightly grassy, but I'm not sure. The bitterness was lighter than I expected, not quite an IIPA, but it was nice. The kind that doesn't pound you right away, but kind of creeps up on you, then sticks around for a short while after you swallow it.
Jim noted this was his second attempt at an AG BIAB recipe. It's very nicely done, especially for only a second attempt. Keep up the good brewing Jim.

Falconer's Flight is actually a blend of several "C" hops so that's where the feeling of multiple hops comes into play. It's in his Murican Wheat recipe, which I've brewed twice and love, and I always detect a great mango aroma and flavor. Maris Otter is awesome, and FF hops are awesome, so I can only imagine that this brew is doubly awesome! Great job, Jim!

He sent one of his Murican Wheats also...can't wait to try it. I think the flavor I was getting is the mango possibly. I'm a big Marris Otter fan too. He did a really good job on this one.

Thanks, Chris! Glad you enjoyed it, even if my attempt at brewing it was less than ideal! FF is a pretty good hop, I think it really does well in the 'Murican.
Also, thanks for the tip about over carbonation. I bottle carbed these, 1/2 teaspoon white sugar. I will have to look at that in the future.

Re: MOFF Diving IIPA, by JimH
Your welcome Jim....I don't think it will take a huge adjustment. It was only a tad bit over carbed on the pour, but it wasn't overcarbed in the mouthfeel. The head was about half the glass, so I let it sit a few minutes and it dissipated. I guess what I'm saying is not to go overboard on the adjustment.
