Thanks for the help, we will see what happens from here. More than likely will wait till after christmas, but we will see. It's -10 outside right now, not making any trips if it can be avoided. Won't warm up until round tues or so. Not supposed to be above zero til tues anyways, so we will see. I offered him $500 cash, but I doubt he goes that low, he thinks highly of this instrument. I would say from what I've read and ya'lls help, it's well worth what he's askin, as long as it plays well.

Well, just made a deal on it. He's putting new strings on it today, I pick it up tomorrow. He won't budge lower than $600, from what I've seen on the net, seems like a good price. Comes with hard case with the 50th aniv. logo plate inside it as well as on the back of the body, new strings (being installed) and the whammy bar.

He says I will want a new, tube amplifier for this 'tar, that my cheapie won't do it justice. LOL, it never ends. Guess I need to call 1-800-bankroll me. Anybody want to do a one time (LOL) investment on my musical career future with no payback guarentee? :jumpy:

COOL!!!

I'll tell ya what there FIT. I bet you sound 10,000X better than I do. I am playing as part of my therapy. I use my computer as an amp. My cats cry when ever I play.

Congratulations on your new purchase. The 50th anniversary Strat is a fine instrument and I know you will enjoy it. I have been playing for 30+ years and still am a hacker, but I bought a Les Paul Custom Black Beauty about 15 years ago and have never regretted the purchase for 1 minute. The tone is unbelievable and I think it makes me play better. I dropped 2 grand on that one, so feel good about the $600 on the Strat. I think you made a good purchase.

Congratulations on your new guitar. There's nothing like getting a new guitar!
(except getting new brewing equipment.)

Regarding tube amps. I have a friend who is testing a new line of amps from tube amp guru Soldano. His amps are normally hand wired ,point to point all tube amps that cost thousands of dollars.

The new amp is being made strictly to his design in Asia. It will cost about 500.00. I've heard they sound great. I don't think the amp has been released the the general public yet.

Congrats again!

Here she is! She's not the custom 50th anniversary model, but still a 50th with the custom plate on the back. Still awesome and plays sweet!! One pic by herself and another with her sister.

Thanks but I'm good. Haven't play one with a whammy in decades and am too old to change.
