Re: Big news in the Hat Family
Congrats, Dave! Good times, for sure. You get to "walk the aisle" with your girl -- a special moment for every dad. (I hope to be there some day, way down the road.) And, you get to add another "son" to the family!
If there's an easy way to find out what styles the groomsmen like, I think that's the way to go. If not, then either the IIPA or something that's a Fedora specialty are both good choices. I think they'll appreciate something hand-crafted "just for them" regardless of whether or not it's their favorite style. I know I would!
The special label idea sounds great, too -- if you are ever gonna do special labels, a wedding is the time to do 'em.

Crazy Climber:
I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.

Now try not to get any tear stains on the checkbook or debit card as the bills start coming in.

Re: Big news in the Hat Family
Actually, the kids plan on paying for it themselves, which I think is "the thing" nowadays. And they're not planning a big blow-out Last-Days-Of-Pompeii-style wedding, anyway. Maybe 150 or so guests, is all.
Michael (my future SiL) did ask me to brew something special as a gift for his two groomsmen. I thought we could also present it to them in a couple of those nifty wooden six-pack carriers with a bottle opener attached to the end, and my daughter thought we could personalize them with a wood-burning kit. Not a bad idea. I'm thinking I might make them a black IIPA and call it something like "Groomsman's Pride".
