Hello everybody...
I can not believe my luck. I find a Mr.BEER kit on the "returns" table at Bed Bath & Beyond for $17.49 and buy it.
So I come home (follow the Mr.BEER video) and do nearly everything wrong, (left it in a basement that got to hot, bottled after 2 weeks without a hydrometer ect..ect...)
I panic a bit when the temps get out of control (80-81 degrees) and find the Mr. BEER forum.
The people are so nice and helpful. I get turned in the right direction (cooler with ice, a thermometer taped to the LBK, a ton of great info, all kinds of reading.... I was hooked!
Then it happened. 1 month into my schooling I get the rug pulled out from under me with some God awful management decisions and HORRIBLE forum conditions.
They basically castrated my knowledge base. Left me standing in the cold. Lost my car keys. Locked me out. Screwed my pipeline of information.
I could have made a better forum out of some old scrap metal and my 233 MHz IBM Aptiva that I bought back in '97 for $1500. (don't laugh it had Bose speakers on the monitor)
At the rate they're communicating and/or "fixing" shit over there everyone will be GONE by the time they figure out how to add a freakin' PREVIEW button. ProBoards would have been a better choice. (and that's saying something)
So here I am. Early in my beer life but much wiser from my 1 month of coaching by some really fantastically helpful people. Thanks to jivex5k, here I am.
All the while the other board seems to be just sitting there... broken down. A shell of it's former self.

Re: Hello everybody...
Welcome man! Glad to have you aboard, especially a fellow Browns fan haha!
There are a lot of familiar AVs hanging around so feel free to ask any question you may have.
Also, any suggestions for guides or stickies we can put up. I started a couple basic ones, though I have limited knowledge of brewing.

Re: Hello everybody...
Thanks. Very frustrating over there right now and it doesn't seem like they're going to be very forthcoming with any info/talk. (very bad business)
You essentially have a message board full of salesman selling your product 24/7 for free, 365 days a year, especially on holidays.. and you fuck that up?
Somebody is getting fired if I'm the boss. Sorry.
My "patience" is a bit tapped out right now with my first brew (American Light) down to 4 liters (LOL, giveaways, test bottles ,liter here ,liter there) (aged almost 5 weeks now) and my second batch on the 3rd week of fermentation.
"+" #2 is Mexican Cerveza Deluxe, and I know from reading that that stuff will be sitting a couple months probably. (w/ a pick here and there)
So even when I bottle that batch this weekend, I still have nearly 2 months to wait for #3 as well. Patience???
I sure as hell don't have any for someone building websites "on the fly"...

hi

I will drain that glass again.

Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."
