New here and to brewing

Post by artillerist »

Well almost new to brewing, haven't got my equipment yet. As soon as the lhbs gets more kits in I'll be getting a Brewers Best kit and starting on new (another) hobby. Until then will be reading up and trying to figure out just how deep I'm going to be getting myself into this.

Welcome to the top of the hill artillerist. The Borg will push you to the bottom. It's a very enjoyable ride with beer at the end. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Welcome! How deep to go? All the way! Come on in, the beer is fine! These guys will give you good advice, and they are really nice. I'm bad with computer links and such, but John Palmer's How to Brew is online, free. It's a great book.

Welcome, artillerist. You've picked a wonderful new hobby. How far to go with it? Total immersion is all but inevitable. I think making beer is more fun than drinking it. I learned just about everything I know about beer from the great folks on this forum. You're in for a good journey.

Jumpin right into the 5 gallon batches. Nice! You are saving a lot of steps doing that. Do you have a big enough kettle?

It's not about the size of your kettle  , it's how you use it.
