I will do that Sam. Thanks. May I ask if you
Have a favorite recipe, and also if you tweak or modify those recipes?
Wollffy,

I like many different types of beer, but the Wild Spirit IPA is one of my favorites and if you want to bring it to life…Make a tea from half pound of Crystal 20 malt, dry-hopped with half ounce of Centennials hops. Cheers!

Sam's right, that would make a real nice brew.............I've done it but I think I used Crystal 60 to get a nice dark amber color. Centennials are awesome in this beer.

Great. So I would like to modify the evil pilsner. I want to add lme and hops to the mix.
So I need to boil the lme and hops to a certain amount of water, and then add the evil pilsner
Correct? Sorry this is only my second attempt at brewing.

I recently bottled the Evil Spirit Plus, haven't tried it yet. I have no trouble with the legs or stand, both fit snugly.

Never mind, there it is.

My understanding is that Fermentis Safebrew S-33 is what comes with all the Brew Demon recipes, except in smaller packs instead of 11.5 gram packs.

This is the spec sheet.

http://www.fermentis.com/wp-content/upl ... SFBS33.pdf

It's a good all around yeast, and deals better with warmer temperatures or fluctuations then some others, which is why they use it I'm sure.

Hey Brewers, I've got 2 little Demons and really like them. But, I can only use them in my Spring Brewing session. I have to clean out the trub by using the outside hose, and once it gets too cold I turn the outside water off. I don't brew in the hotter months,or when it is too cold,so in my Fall Brewing session I use other 2.5 gal. fermenters. I solved the "leg problems" in mine. Hot glued the legs in the holes. I also rack to a slimline for a bottling vessel,b/c I don't want to over-use the spigot. I like their refills also.

Here are two PHP (or OEP) mods that I've done and liked them both. If this goes over your head, ask questions and we can point you in the right direction:

1 Can PHP (instead of 2)
.25 Lbs Carapils
1.75 Lbs Pilsen DME
.50 Oz Hallertauer (30 x Min)
.50 Oz Saaz (@ 15 min)

Steep 4 ounces of CaraPils in 1/2 gallon of 155 to 165 water for 30 minutes. While this is steeping, heat up 1/2 gallon of sparge water. Rinse in 1/2 gallon of rinse water and discard - add rinse water to the brew pot. Add the 3/4 pound of Pilsen DME and bring up to a boil. Watch pot before hot break to avoid boil over. Once hot break has occurred, Toss in flavor hops (.50 oz Hallertauer) and set timer for 30 minutes. At 15 minutes to go, toss in Aroma hops (.50 oz Saaz). When time expires, remove hop sacks and set aside on a sanitized plate.

Flame out. Add 1 Lb of Pilsen DME and stir to combine, then add the OEP HME to the pot. Stir well to incorporate, put the hop sacks back into the pot, then place a sanitized lid on the pot. Immerse in water/ice bath for (up to) 30 minutes until wort has cooled to pitching temperature of mid 60's. Add 4 quarts of ice cold water to LBK and then transfer the wort leaving hot break material and sediment behind. Vigorously stir the wort and pitch the yeast - try to pitch at approx 65-66 degrees.

Ferment for 3 weeks at semi-constant temp around 65 to 68. This recipe is not dry hopped.

or

1 Can of OEP (instead of 2)
.25 Oz Carapils
1.75 Lbs Pilsen DME
.35 Oz Sterling (@ 28 Min)
.15 Oz Sterling (@ 17 Min)
.50 Oz Sterling (Dry Hopped)

Steep 4 ounces of CaraPils in 1/2 gallon of 155 to 165 water for 30 minutes. While this is steeping, heat up 1/2 gallon of sparge water. Rinse in 1/2 gallon of rinse water and discard - add rinse water to the brew pot. Add the 3/4 pound of Pilsen DME and bring up to a boil. Watch pot before hot break to avoid boil over. Once hot break has occurred, Toss in flavor hops (.35 oz Sterling) and set timer for 28 minutes. At 17 minutes to go, toss in Aroma hops (.15 oz Sterling).

Ferment for 3 weeks at semi-constant temp around 65 to 68. Add dry hops in (.50 oz Sterling) after primary fermentation and 2 days before bottling.

Shit the bed. I was almost a month late on that reply.

Well, wolffy, if you like OEP, you can make another version using my recipes if you want to.
