When I got up this morning my beer was blowing CO2 into the blow off bucket so hard I could hear it from my bedroom. That is upstairs and on the opposite end of the house. I checked on the temperature of the beer and it is holding at 67 degrees. I do have a fan blowing on the conical so I don't know if that is actually holding the fort or if this vigorous fermentation just isn't raising the temperature.

Wonder if the 5 gallons of head space is helping with the temperature? That's a lot of stainless thermal mass to bleed the heat off, with the fan helping

I never thought of that. I hope that is the case. When I checked a bit ago it was 68 degrees. Usually a fermentation this active will raise the temperature 6 to 10 degrees. Ambient temperature in my basement fluxuates from 66 to 68.
