This was my first chance to try a one off beer, This was indeed brewing company's rum king imperial stout
This is an imperial stout aged in a rum barrel. Poured into a 10 oz nonic glass 10% abv
Appearance: typically stouty garnet/black, minimal head and lacing
Aroma: spiced rum, oak, hint of dark fruit.
Taste: here is where this beer shines, the complexity of flavors explodes into a cacophony of deliciousness, chocolate, coffee, spiced rum, dark fruit etc all blend into a delicious mix of flavors, masterfully done, sweet, bitter, spicy all at once.
Mouthfeel: heavy body, sticky mouthfeel, exactly as an imperial stout should be in my opinion, no alcohol burn despite the high content
Overall: one of my favorite beers so far, seemingly perfect balance of flavors, good sipping beer, 10 oz was enough but not enough at the same time. Honestly can't think of anything I would improve in this beer, sadly no pictures

Re: Indeed rum king
I have never heard of a rum barrel stout. It sounds intriguing.
Re: Indeed rum king
I tried a local breweries beer that spent 40 days in a whiskey barrel. A bit overpowering for my taste. Tasted like a watered down whiskey....
The beer wasn't nearly as complex as you described. If available around here, I may try it.

Not sure how long this was aged but boy was it good. They might be selling 750s of it but for right now it is taproom only. A local bar just managed to get their hands on a barrel. If any 750s make their way up here I am definitely buying one
