Wish I could but I doubt I will ever. Money, space, yada, yada, yada. I'll have to live with what I have which works fine for me.

I am drinking ale today."

Re: Recirculation Brewing
That really looks nice. Now, for my ignorance.... What does that do, what's the reasoning, advantage, how does it work, etc. Teach me o wise ones.

Re: Recirculation Brewing
That's awesome. Yes, please teach me too. I curious to what all that means. Can you explain how the recirculating process works?

Re: Recirculation Brewing
One word repeatability. You are able to maintain an exact mash temp. Step mashing etc

Re: Recirculation Brewing
I've been researching the 62 Quart High Gravity BIAB Electric Brewing System for my next system. I've been a gas stovetop brewer for a number of years but lately these automated brewing systems have started looking a lot more appealing than ever before. I like the idea of setting the PID controller and having the mash temperatures and length of the mash automatically maintained.
Brew in a bag will be something new for me but cutting 3 hours of of my brewday while making 10 gallons of beer sounds really good to me now.

Hey Screwy, Welcome!! Great to see you over here.
I've been drooling over some of these RIMS and HERMS systems too. A little too much for me to bite off right now, but definitely where I want to get to.

Re: Recirculation Brewing
I wonder how long it takes to bring 10 gallons of wort to a boil with that system. But, it's out of my price range. Sure would make for an easier brewday.

Re: Recirculation Brewing
Thanks. I signed up for the Tap Room a while back but had to figure out I needed to register to use the forum yet. Now that's out of the way I'll be stopping by more often to see what the 'old gang' has been up to.gwcr wrote:Hey Screwy, Welcome!! Great to see you over here.

Re: Recirculation Brewing
They tell me 20 minutes to heat up to mash temperature and another 10 minutes to get a good boil going. It's got a 4500 watt heating element similar in size to an electric home hot water heater. I'm pretty excited to learn all I can about it for now, but a buy is definitely on the horizon.Beer-lord wrote:I wonder how long it takes to bring 10 gallons of wort to a boil with that system.
