DREW PEARSON PUSHED OFF!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQfyJBJoLQs

To this day this play pisses me off!
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

The defender let him...get over it!!! LOL

On another note, who let the Bidwills own the Cardinals for so long...I have only suffered since 1988 when they moved the Cards to AZ. Now try complaining and feeling sorry for yourself.

The refs should just let them play, no interference calls, no holding calls, let the best man win whether it be blocking or tackling, all-out war. When you let the refs decide then there are no happy fans. The team that wins the battles, wins the war. That way you there is no crying in football, all's fair in love & war. Just throwing it out there.

I can't get behind this. That would take all the skill out of the game and just turn it into a Roman Gladiator brawl. I appreciate the game for what it is, flaws and all. It's sort of like the expectation in America to challenge our leaders - as football fans we are expected to bitch about refs!

I hear you, I was just throwing it out there since a penalty could be called on every single play. Let the players play and if it actually influences the outcome of the play negatively, then throw the flag. Some calls are ticky tacky and others are flagrant enough to call. This is one reason why I won't watch NBA...refs want to be part of the game outcome rather than letting em play. I was just taking the devil may care attitude. Remember the game is 60 minutes long and one call shouldn't change the game in its entirety.

Agree 100%. A good game is when you don't remember the refs - in any sport. They make the calls they should (the ones you expect) and just blend in the rest of the time.

Oh yeah....go Niners!

First off Great to see you posting again T8r.

Second the point I made about one of the sports sites throwing in the break down of who moves through the playoffs based on the officiating crew they get I think was done as tongue in cheek but it may be a serious issue now.

Most of the games are predicted to be close in points so in fact one bad call could be what we are looking at in post game analysis.

We spend a week watching/listening to officiating bashing right up to the Super Bowl

Well, I went 2 for 4 in picks this weekend. I really thought the Carolina defence would stifle the Niners. And the Saints? Well, that game and the Colts-Pat game only proved either every team should be in a dome or every team should be outdoors. Enough of this mixing it up crap, make one type of stadium (indoors/outdoors) the standard and make all teams building a new stadium adhere to that decision.
Of course at least 3 of the domes in the league are new so this idea won't matter for at least 50 years

I didn't get to watch the whole game but what I did watch I can tell you that I don't know if I've ever seen such "chippy" foot ball being plat as that of the Panthers. The way they were hitting and pushing after the play and getting the faces of the Niners and "jawing" at them was hard to watch. The out-come of this game didn't really matter to me but I was glad to see the Niners came out on top after watching that.

My parents live in Franklin, NC. Not sure how close you are to that area. Highlands is very close to them.

Well I had to cheer for Carolina because our names are on the pedestal bellow the bronze panther they showed at the beginning of the game.

@ChuckN I think the Panther's D came out with a chip on their shoulder about the team thinking it didn't get enough respect.
It backfired on them with too many unsportsman penalties and the coach said something to them at halftime that deflated them.
They seemed gassed in the second half. Cam Newton came on the field at the start of game looking like a deer caught in the head lights and I thought all was lost at the beggining but he settled down.
The offense just didn't keep the ball long enough and the coach was just plain dumb to try going for 4th and goals against the Niners.

Everybody screwed up just enough to lose. Including, go figure, the refs.

The Niners Seattle game should be awesome if emotions remain in check. And of course a Manning/Brady shoot out won't be boring either.
