I don't have my notes in front of me, but I can remember it ... I've brewed 245+ batches of beer, and one of my all-time favorites was batch 13 in early '10 which I've done again a few times. Very simple.
Using standard LBK MrB water vol / methods:
Steep a bit of Carapils
1 lb light DME ... boil in Galena Hops
- 1/6 oz 50 min
- 1/6 oz 20 min
- 16 oz 10 min.
Flame out, add two cans Sticky Wickett (now Brewdemon Shamu Oatmeal Stout)
Standard LBK methods
Man, was that delicious. yah, boy.

I drank one of the old Mr. Beer Oatmeal Stouts today, and have 4 cans (2 batches) of it left to brew still. Then I'll switch to Stout recipes with LME and steeped grains.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

I make most of my stouts AG BIAB with roasted barley as specialty malt. But, LME and steep would be just as good ... steeping the black malt provides the same delicious results as adding it to a mash.RickBeer wrote:I drank one of the old Mr. Beer Oatmeal Stouts today, and have 4 cans (2 batches) of it left to brew still.
