Good plan, JJ. I use a little rye in FedoraDave's American Ale, and Kingpin IPA. It's a good addition. I like it in small amounts, but YMMV.

I got another recipe with rye in it and was impressed with the flavor. might have to use rye in place of wheat in an American Wheat. guess that would make it an American Rye

I was not planning on a brew day Monday, till my wife asked me if I was going to bring a keg of homebrew to this Super Bowl party we were invited to. Knowing that a double IPA may not be as popular as something else, I decided to fire up a batch of everyone's favorite: my Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone. Ran short of Cascade hops, so I subbed Comet & Amarillo whole leaf hops for the 0 minute addition. The Comet has a grapefruit aroma quality that should work nicely with Amarillo. I'm looking forward to tasting the difference in this version.

Just bottled a Liberty Cream Ale http://www.midwestsupplies.com/liberty-cream-ale.html I cut the bittering hops in half as per directions if you wanted a less bitter beer. I don't think this is one I'll like very much after the bottling taste test, too much nothing for me. I like to brew some easy beers for some of the people that want to try my homebrew and they are use to drinking BMC's, I can't give them a IPA or a stout right of the bat.

Got an early start this morning and brewed an Irish Red http://www.midwestsupplies.com/irish-red-ale-kit.html I've brewed this one quite a few times but have a few little changes I make, I call it Sweet 'Lil Red. Now getting everything cleaned up and am going to brew up a Nut Brown tomorrow as I have the day off. I wanted to get done early today as I have company coming this afternoon and I don't like a lot of people around when brewing, too many distractions and too easy to make a mistake.

Bottled my "Begian Spiced KRAMPUS Ale." First time I've done a cold crash before bottling. Sample tasted pretty good!

Bottled the NillaMilk Stout yesterday. I'm gonna wait until St. Paddy's Day to try the first one, which is two solid months in the bottle. Preliminary taste tests indicate success.

Today, I brewed a 2.5 gallon test batch of Groomsman's Pride Black IPA, which is the beer my future son-in-law wants to give to his groomsmen as a gift in the summer of 2015. I have a pretty good feeling about it.
